ROCLA Launches New Initiative with Amnesty International USA

January: "Help Bring Justice to the Women of Atenco, Mexico"

On January 5 at 7 PM, at Downtown Presbyterian Church, Barbara Deming, of Amnesty International (AI) Group 190 in Brockport, will help launch a new ROCLA initiative. Starting that evening ROCLA will have an AI Urgent Action opportunity at every monthly meeting. Barbara will share AI's mission and the nature of Urgent Actions and also show the DVD, "Urgent Call for Justice," about the Women of Atenco, Mexico, who were beaten and sexually assaulted by police in May 2006 and who still haven't had justice. Postcards regarding their case will be available for action.

The meeting is open to the public. Parking available in the City Hall parking lot across from the church . Wheelchair accessible and looped for those with hearing loss.
